Lemme Work It: 12/23/09

Gooood afternoon!

I have so much Christmas spirit right now! I realized after I posted this morning that yesterday was my long day and now it’s just like TIME TO ENJOY THE HOLIDAY! I got so, so excited. I was getting ready for the gym and realized that because I wasn’t running, I didn’t have to wear my hideous Asics — I could wear my Shox! Seriously, the Asics make me want to cry every time I put them on! As soon as this marathon is over, I’m ordering a new pair of Shox that are so ghettofabulous and pimped out, it’s going to borderline on ridiculous. I mean, my current Shox are a bit ridic, but they are also red and green, so that made me even happier. With a red sports bra and kinda cute hair, I was totally having an unintentional Gym Crush workout!

On the way to the gym, I cranked Mariah and had the most epic Christmas concert as I drove. I knew it was going to be a fun workout. I started with a 10-minute walk with some hills, and then went to the elliptical trainer. Now I know it’s a little annoying that I’m so excited about the elliptical trainer, but I can’t tell you how badly I’ve just wanted a WORKOUT. Not a RUN, not TRAINING, but a good-old-fashioned 30 minutes of cardio. I was just working it on the elliptical to my Naughty playlist and loving life. It was just a lot more fun than running, which I’ve really needed! I did 30 minutes and then squeezed in a quick round of push-ups, triceps, and biceps to “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” I felt so refreshed and ready for my day! Plus, this DILF was totally making eyes at me from his elliptical. I gave him a little booty shake when I was at the drinking fountain.

I came home and it was time to get glam. For the party, I am doing full-out Kim K. makeup (I love her makeup) It feels a little weird to put on fake eyelashes at 10 AM, but I won’t have time later. By the way, after learning the ins and outs of fake eyelash application from a drag queen last winter, I have to say…I spent 20 minutes trying to get on $3 Target eyelashes to no avail…but it only took ONE TRY to get on Shu Uemura lashes and they look infinitely better! Sometimes, you do have to pay more for quality.

I was actually famished really early, so I made the only lunch I was craving: eggs, bacon, and toast!

I also had some coffee and a huge-ass Honeycrisp. So simple; I always feel like kind of old-fashioned when I eat eggs for some reason.

I was chatting with my best friend Beth this morning and she told me she had bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast too! You may have noticed I’ve been eating eggs a lot lately, and while it’s because I love them and they are just pretty much a perfect food, I’m also doing it because they are so cheap! I’m trying to watch my spending and I realized that, hey, if I eat more eggs and oatmeal, I can probably save some funds! So until I get bored of these two meals, I’m going to stick with the basics!

All right, since it’s Hump Day, I have two midday treats! (Real treat later, of course.) The first is this Web site It Made My Day. I’m too much of an optimist for FML, so IMMD is perfect for me! It’s just little stories of those things that make your day! I was seriously grinning as I read through 14 pages of them yesterday. So…I’m sure you’re not that busy at work today — entertain yourself! Also, if you’re feeling naughty, check out the Twitter feed @LoadedSanta. He Tweets such gems as, “Prancer’s fucking Dancer. In the ass. Oh what. You’re shocked?” and “To the chick who sings that song, ‘Santa Baby’…so….are we fucking or what?” Totally pissed I didn’t think of this myself!

And last, to end on a good note, since Santa’s probably not loaded and IS still watching, I’m sharing my favorite, totally underrated Christmas song…TRY not to be in a good mood and feel all lovey-dovey when you hear it! JUST TRY!

Have a great afternoon!

The trick to peeling them is to let them cool for 30 minutes after you roast them! Otherwise it’s nearly impossible!!
