Everyone says I date like a guy, but I guess I blog like a guy too because you know what? I never say “I love you” enough.
And I really, really love my readers.
Seriously, you guys…I love your comments and I love when you e-mail me…I love when you Tweet cool articles at me and I love when you send me mp3s of dirty rap songs you know I have probably never heard before. (Hands down the best moment in my entire blogging experience.) I love interacting with you guys. I know I don’t respond to every comment and I SHOULD because they crack me up and make me think and honestly, make me feel incredibly grateful that we can have these conversations. So, going forward, I just want my blog to feel like more of a conversation! If I ask a question it’s because I’m interested. I don’t consider myself an “expert” in the sense that I still believe there is so much to learn and do and try and the best way is from other people. I think that’s why I loved sorority life so much — because there were constantly women who inspired me and got me more passionate about things than I already am. (Which is like, too much sometimes, I just sometimes feel like I could burst into flames. Sort of how I feel right now.)
So I say this a lot, but seriously, don’t lurk! Don’t comment just to comment (actually, please don’t comment just to comment, ew, gross) but just tell me more — tell me what you want, what you need, tell me what’s on your mind. I get so many ideas that way and I love when that happens. (Hello, Wet Wednesday?!?! And hello, why Wet Wednesday also includes sexy girls and not just guys!!!) It makes me blog better, and so really, you’re doing me a service, but then you’re doing everyone else and yourself a service too…so it’s basically like an orgy. And I like orgies. Everybody feels good!
I just feel like things have felt a lot more fun here lately, and I think it’s because you guys are making me want to make it more fun?! And it worked — so thank you!
Nothing in particular spurred this, but I have been doing a lot of writing for Hollaback and it made me realize how bloggers talk about getting readers, losing readers, whatever…and…I just realized that you needed to know. If you read often and “get it” and care, then you are a “reader” and I love you! And I don’t want to say, “If you don’t like it, don’t read it.” No. I want you to read. I want you to stay and so I want to get better. So thank you for making me want to step up my game. You bring it, I’ll bring it, and it will be exactly like Bring It On, except that I cannot dance.
See ya in the morning, lovies!
