Baby, Give It Up To Me: Win a Fitbook!

How do I love my Fitbook? Let me count the ways…

Seriously, I wrote about it back in February, and I bought my second one a few weeks ago because I couldn’t bear to go a day without it. I love, love, love this thing. I recommend it to everyone! I lost five pounds in the 12 weeks that I had it and I credit my success in this order: 1. Fitbook 2. Core Fusion 3. Your Nutritionista’s Love of Butter. The second two things are what actually did it, but having a place to write it all down to stay on track is what really made the difference.

I actually love it so much that I signed up for the company’s new affiliate program which just means that if you buy a Fitbook after clicking on one of my links or on my widget, I’ll make a small commission. It’s really cool because I know a lot of people have purchased them because of my rave reviews, so it’s always nice when a company rewards that!

[In the interest of full disclosure, I still pay full-price for mine. Oh and I’m not that special — if you’re a Fitbook enthusiast and interested in becoming an affiliate too, click on the pic above or on the widget in my sidebar to get set up!]

Anyway, onto the free stuff!

So, since I have it pretty bad for all things Fitbook, they gave me a Fitbook to give to you guys for my blog’s first birthday party! my favorite fit tip is: always have a bag of work out clothes next to the door. I can NEVER come up with the excuse that I can’t find my sports bra, or I’m missing a shoe or that I “forgot” my clothes, since EVERYTHING is packed all ready. I even have ear buds in there as well. Socks, shoes, bra, ear buds, gym key, empty AND CLEAN aluminum water bottle & a magazine :)
No excuses.

Since I’m already workin’ my fitbook overtime I don’t need one, but I still wanted to share my tips.

Of course, there is always the option of keeping my new totally sexy, white bikini in my line of vision as a constant reminder to put down the carbs. For me, my motivation for all things fitness has to do with how I feel in that exact moment. So, when I have no motivation to workout or I have a craving…I take a few minutes, regroup, imagine what I want to look like, but more importantly, how I want to feel this summer at the beach, walking through the grocery store, or like even standing in line at the post office. I mean, I don’t know about you, but my mailman is totally hot. And personally, there is no bigger motivation than experiencing complete, unconditional love for myself, inside and out.

But, for the real motivation…

The warm weather does make people lazy so in the summer months I love to get out early in the morning and get a 30 minute walk in. Because I work so early and have to be out of the house by 7, I do 30 in the morning and then I go for a peaceful, brisk walk after dinner, as well. I’m getting physical while I am also calming down my mind and reflecting on my day. And as a rule of thumb, as my walk is winding down I always make a point to take a few minutes and think about any goals I have for the next day or what I want to get done. By doing that, I hold myself more accountable for being productive and yes, getting that 30 minute walk done at 5:30am. Because, yeah, it’s totally a drag sometimes.

But, probably my favorite tip, is that you don’t always have to put the beer down. All you have to do is run first! I always grab my man (when I have one) or a friend and we do a run/jog or a brisk walk a few miles and head to a local pub or outdoor restaurant. I live in Chicago and so I’m just a few miles from the lake and my favorite activity is to jog down to the lakefront and grab a beer or some food. And yeah, people are looking at you, but not because you are in a sports bra and spandex but because your ass is fat and your curves are kickin’. Okay, so maybe some of you can jam to the original ‘your waist is small and your curves are kickin’ but I prefer the remix.

See why I couldn’t officially submit these ideas….they’re just too ridiculous. I’m telling people to drink beer AND wear spandex.

Oh weird – I left a comment yesterday and it is gone.

My fit tip is to get up in the morning and get it over with. With the hot weather, most of us get sluggish by the end of the day and it’s easy to forgo a workout. I love the cool air in the morning and I have energy all day. The best part is that working out in the morning is that it leaves more time to find a patio and enjoy some low cal drinks with friends!

My best fit living tip is to pray when I rise every morning and night to guide me through to getting a healthy lifestyle change and to lose weight. I pray to to help get me motivated to workout consistently and to guide me through those difficult times when I want to binge and give up. Prayers seem to be working for me. That is my best fit living tip.
