The Hours

by Rachel on July 5, 2010

I feel a little gross even posting this because I hate to give the impression that I think people sit around, anxiously biting their nails as they wait for my next post, when in all reality, I’m pretty sure that most people check my blog as they see fit, at a leisurely pace while avoiding doing real work. Still, I know there are a few who do get excited for new posts and are aware of my basic posting schedule…so, for their sake, I feel the need to share that I’m reducing how often I post.

I’m doing this for a number of reasons, including, but not limited to: summer, important career changes, quality over quantity, some boring tech shit, summer, the desire to stop being a (admittedly, really well-fed) starving artist, and, well, summer.

The thing is, I blog about my life, and I want to make sure I spend enough time living that life so that I can write the sort of posts that you want to read.

So for the next couple months, you can still depend on a daily post from me, just like you can depend on getting turned on watching Matt Lauer on “The Today Show.” I know myself far too well to say that it won’t be more than that on occasion — sometimes I just can’t help myself!! — but I do need some extra time in my schedule to focus on other job prospects and writing opportunities, my personal goals, my family and friends, my LDR, and, well, summer!

Mmmkay, I’m rolling my eyes at myself and my seemingly huge ego right now because I do know that you guys aren’t going to go on a hunger strike or storm my Facebook page with demands that I post more. I’m saying, “Shhhh!” to myself and stopping this post right here!

Hope you had a great holiday weekend and I’ll catch you tomorrow!

Excellent decision. My life became so much less stressful when I decided to post once a week “Tuesday Blags” — although I even have a hard time getting THAT done!

Excellent explanation, Rach! We WANT you to be living that life and not have your blog be your wholllleeee life. This way, we will be even more excited when we see a new post by THE Rachel Wilkerson. :)

We will miss you but living life is way more important than blogging! I can’t wait to hear about your new adventures.
