Press Play: Taking Off!

by Rachel on August 3, 2010

For your listening pleasure (and mine) I decided to put together a good playlist to keep everyone entertained as I’m en route to Michigan today!

jamz

I’m effectively ending my LDR, but these are the best songs for when you’re in one. The anticipation, the take-off, the landing, the things that happen if you wear a skirt on the plane, the fabulous datecation, and the terribly depressing good-bye.

Shooting Stars (Bag Raiders)

Dreaming (Nikki & Rich)

Wait (Get Set Go)

Airplanes (B.o.B.)

There Goes the Fear (Doves)

Welcome to Atlanta (Jermaine Dupri, Murphy Lee, P. Diddy, & Snoop Dogg) *Worst airport ever for layovers.

Come and Get It (Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed)

Fall Into My Arms (Ed Harcourt)

Merrymakin’ At My Place (Calvin Harris)

Wasting Time (Jack Johnson)

Falling (Ben Kewller)

How Good It Can Be (The 88)

Stay Put! (The Blood Arm)

Stay Don’t Go (Spoon)

Stop This Train (John Mayer)

Welcome 2 Detroit (Trick Trick & Eminem)

In a Little While (U2)

Mmm…reading the trajectory of my relationship in playlist form sort of makes me sad the LDR is coming to an end. I mean, as excited as I am to see my family tonight, I really don’t plan to jump on/make out with them in the airport.

Oh, thanks, I love love love mixed playlists… a lot of times it gives me new music to chase after (and as a woman who owns more than 23,000 mp3s, new music is ALWAYS appreciated!)

I was in a long distance relationship once and I still distinctly remember crying at the Austin airport saying goodbye. Although I now consider him an asshole, that is still one of my favorite memories-to care so much about someone that it hurts that much to leave.

First, yeah!!! about you being in love! Now, make him post more. And not just because he is pretty. :)

Second, that book Hungry you recommended … I recommend it also, not just as a book about living healthy, but about living as a woman, and just as a book! It really is SO good – thanks for getting me to read it.

Third, I LOVE the CF upper body workout, thanks for that also! Especially the triceps. The abs less so. Does that get better over time? It just doesn’t feel like it is doing anything.

And again, yay love!
