My Nutritionista

It’s no secret that Leah is one of my good friends and blogging besties!

She’s also my go-to nutrition guru. While I know a lot about food and weight loss from my own experience, Leah is just so passionate about healthy food and always has the answers I need. Last week I desperately e-mailed her “I want to make chicken salad but I don’t know what mayo to buy!” and of course she had the answer (use full-fat Greek yogurt!) before I had even gotten to the grocery store.

After I ran the Disney marathon in January, I noticed my body was just clinging to weight, so I turned to her for advice, and oh, she set me straight. She introduced me to a totally new style of eating, one that valued fresh local ingredients, lots of sustainable protein (even meat!), and — best of all? — real butter. She helped me cut my major sugar/carb problem; I didn’t even know it was a problem until she fixed it. I was way happier and healthier and I started losing weight right away.

I am so happy that she decided to turn her passion and skill into a job; this summer she started her own business: Your Nutritionista Consulting. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who is frustrated with their diet, who wants to lose a few pounds, who doesn’t care about her weight but who knows she could be more satisfied and live more deliciously, or anyone who just wants someone to tell her exactly what to eat.

When you sign up with her, you get a customized plan that’s designed for you based on YNC’s 10 Commandments of Food and Fitness. You’ll get a personalized meal database, grocery list, workout plan, etc. You’ll receive a comprehensive evaluation that covers your health and lifestyle habits past, present, and future. Then you’ll have a 45-minute consult with Leah. During the consult, she’ll talk through your evaluation and craft your plan. It’s totally custom for your needs (vegan, lactose intolerant, hate cooking, whatever!) and you can share any thoughts, questions, or concerns. Besides getting a custom plan, you also get a is weekly check-in with Leah via phone or Skype to talk about any challenges you’ve had; this helps you stay on top of your goals since you have her holding you accountable! It’s pretty much designed to make it hard for you to fail.

And what you may not know is that I actually work with Leah’s clients too! When her clients are in need of someone to chat with about the other stuff that’s bothering them (those nasty “But I don’t want to be on a diet!” feelings) she gives them the option to chat with me for a little life coaching free of charge. I’ve worked with quite a few of her clients this way, and it’s great for me to reach more people! I love working with them because I can totally talk to them as someone who knows what they are going through.

So if you’ve been thinking about doing some sort of weight loss program, diet, or a healthy eating plan, I can’t recommend hers enough! (And you can read more testimonials, not just mine.) This is how I eat most of the time (um, when I’m eating well/feeling my best) and it’s a great way to get more personalized nutrition advice along with two passionate, healthy, energetic girls focused on helping you meet your goals. So check out her site and if you do sign up, know that we might have some good chats in the future as well!

You ladies are so fetch! Is there any way to work in some good old fashion bartering? I can refer an excellent workaholic accountant who needs to get in the gym and off the cola.
