Well, I had been dying to use it. I’d seriously wanted to try it out for months…but then when it arrived, I got a little scurred.
I mean, this thing is just a system of a few ropes. It allegedly supports you while you crunch, plank, push, and pull in all directions. I stared at it in its ropey pile every day for a week. I was distrustful.
After a few days of avoiding it, I realized, I couldn’t put it off any longer. I had to use the damn thing, even if it meant most certain death…or, more likely, most certainly sore abs.
I decided to just pretend I was being tied up. That’s pain I can handle.
I treated it like I would any new sexy toy — I took my time and was super careful. Slowly but surely, I got the hang of it. Yes, I would have loved to do a full circuit workout, flying through it and doing cardio bursts between each move, but that would be like whipping out handcuffs and a blindfold on the first date.
And I’m a lady.
The main question is: if it looks like a bondage device and it hurts like a bondage device…is it a bondage device?
I mean, when Elisabeth was talking about it, she said you could strap it on anywhere.
[…it’s too easy.]
And much like a new sexy toy, you know who is most excited about it? The BF. Apparently he and his work friends have already been getting themselves all soaking wet over it, talking about how they could totally put one up in the office. He’s all ready to try it out with me, and I can see why. You feel super buff and powerful when you’re doing it…and it also puts you in all sorts of interesting positions.
[…seriously, it’s too easy!!!!!]
It might be a bondage device, but it’s also a legit workout! I felt like I was a superhero with all the different moves, and I must say, fighting gravity (and evil?) as you’re suspended in different positions has got to be good for something. Some moves I dialed up a notch and made harder, while others are going to be the death of me. The planks are pretty brutal (you do them with your feet in the cuffs) but it was a “hurts so good” kinda thing.
And, ya know, I’m kinda into that.
