Good afternoon! It’s time to announce the winners of the Girls Who Eat Their Feelings Challenge!
I have to say, this was an awesome challenge. From food babies because you don’t have a real baby to screaming at the barista on Christmas Eve, the stories that came along with these recipes were so good. There were so many new entrants — heyoh to all the first-timers! — and all were just great. I seriously laughed/snorted at most of them, and was genuinely touched by the ones that were more serious. The competition is really heating up…everyone is bringing it!
The winner this week was the lovely Manon and her “Sorry I pulled a Houdini on You and Broke Your Heart, But at Least You Got the Last Laugh Because Who’s the Bitch Eating Her Feelings Now” Meatloaf and Smashed Heart Potatoes.
My mom and I both loved this one. Loved the title (smashed heart potatoes — perfect), the recipe (can’t wait to make it!), and the fact that the mini meatloaves were shaped like hearts. Congrats, lady!
Honorable mentions go to…
Stephanie’s “Sorry You Hate Me Because I Drank Too Much, Took My Pants Off, and Fucked Your Ex” Three Cheese Macaroni (Manon and Stephanie need a reality show.)
Loved these entries! The recipes, the titles, the stories…so great!
I also wanted to give shout-outs to Jaclyn’s “I Have Two Useless Degrees and am $23K in Debt Due to Entenmann’s” Wavy Cake and Margot’s “We-Might-Not-Be-Able-To-Buy-Liquor-Before-Noon-But-We-Can-Sure-As-Hell-Dump-It-In-Our-French-Toast” French Toast. These were two of my favorite kinda-serious posts. I also loved Meredith’s “This Boy Makes Me Feel All Warm and Fuzzy Like an Apple Pie” Pie and Lisa’s “Warm, Comforting, and a Bit Cheesy: My Steve” Rice Egg Dish — both were very sweet posts that weren’t about getting your heart broken.
Now go read all the awesome entries. I love them all!
And I wish I could link to the non-bloggers because they are fabulous too! I loved Sarah’s Not Just Any Raspberry Bread, Paige’s “Healthy Ramen Recipes and Other Things Not Worth Googling,” and Mandy and Rachel’s “You’re 29 and It’s Time to Act Like a Grown-Up” Mac and Cheese.
Another great week for Project Tasteless…be sure to check back tomorrow for the next challenge!
