Press Play: A Jolly Beat

by Rachel on December 7, 2010

I currently have about seven hours of Christmas music on my computer, a duration that I’m happy to see increase each year. This year, the best addition has been a free Christmas album from Target. Julia sent it to me last week, and before I even had a chance to download it, I found myself jamming to Target commercials on several occasions. Luckily, all the songs I’d been loving were part of the album!

I love so many of the tracks and I wish I were still teaching spinning because I’d love to make a class sweat to “Electronic Santa Claus.”  It’s a really fun, high-energy take on Christmas music. Download here: Target Holiday Album 2010.

I recommend putting it on while doing high-energy Christmas activities: baking, decorating, drinking…it provides the perfect soundtrack for the “I’m-so-fabulous-my-life-looks-like-a-holiday-montage” I’m certain everyone is experiencing right now.

Ok lets have it… if you had to chose just one Christmas CD for all Christmas’s to come, which one would you pick?

Oh that is a REALLY tough question — most of the stuff I listen to is really pop-influenced. But for ALL Christmases for the rest of my life? Probably a Charles Brown Christmas album…so classic, sexy, and still fun. And second would be Vince Guaraldi Trio’s Charlie Brown Christmas album!

Not sure if I mentioned this last year, but if not, you need to add this to your playlist…

Just downloaded. I love seasonal music, especially during dreary finals time.
