Pimp My Kitchen: S’more to Love

by Rachel on May 5, 2011

During the big moving weekend, Eric and I were at Home Goods when we came across this amazing product.

When an infomercial product such as this is on sale for $12.99 and is the only one in stock, you don’t ask, “Why?”

You ask, “WHY NOT????”

The only real question we had to answer was whether to keep the S’More To Love
for ourselves or save it as an awesome birthday gift for Preston. We decided we’d keep it for ourselves and if we liked it, we’d try to track one down to give to Preston.

Last week, we took it out for a spin. You can use the S’More to Love in on the grill or in the oven, but I figured this was a perfect first assignment for our new toaster oven.

First, you load it up with the proper ingredients…

Then you snap the lid shut and flip it over. The s’mores are secured nice and tight…I felt like they were about to go on a roller coaster ride.

(I seriously LOVE infomercials.)

And then you have dessert!

My goal in life is to have enough money to be able to try every single “As Seen on TV” product and know for sure if it’s as awesome as they say it is. I’m going to go with pretty awesome on this one, although no where near as useful as the Magic Bullet. That thing seriously needs to be in the “As Seen on TV” Hall of Fame.

Brilliant! Haha. My only infomercial purchase was the Lean Mean Grilling Machine!

3 Dori May 5, 2011 at 3:18 pm

I LOVE s’mores. Do you remember the microwaveable “Suddenly S’mores” from our childhood?

4 Carla May 5, 2011 at 3:53 pm

I bought and love the magic bullet blender, the George Forman grill (it came with a Lean, Mean Toasting Machine)…and Stack and Twist!

Has anyone tried the Xpress cooker – that’s one of my favorites to watch.

No way. REALLY? This exists???? I want it so bad. I am SO awful at making ‘real’ smores. Like…almost burned down the porch awful. I could HAVE them again if I had this thing!

Um, can I get a hell yeah for the Perfect Brownie Pan???

I’m only *partially* ashamed about the fact that I have a Tony-Little-approved Gazelle in my closet.

LOVE the Perfect Brownie Pan…it’s awesome!

I need this. NEED. I just saw a s’mores commercial and was like “oh man, when this summer am i going to have a chance to eat some s’mores”

and now the answer has descended upon me.

brb, going to home goods/meijer/anywhere right now to buy one

9 Rachel May 5, 2011 at 5:21 pm

I bet you could get one at Walgreens!

10 Liz May 5, 2011 at 6:01 pm

Okay Rachel, I love you (seriously) but put me in the “WTF IS THIS” boat. Am I the only one who just puts my s’mores in the microwave? IT’S NOT HARD, PEOPLE.

But I do own a Bacon Genie. Which is awesome.

S’mores in the microwave aren’t toasted. S’mores in the microwave do NOT taste the same! With the S’more to Love, you can get the authentic toasted taste you crave!!

12 Kim May 5, 2011 at 6:21 pm

So true, I feel like S’mores in the microwave tastes stale but somehow soggy at the same time.

13 Liz May 5, 2011 at 8:57 pm

My secret is that I don’t even buy stuff for s’mores, lol. I just get Moon Pies (TM) and microwave them for about 15 seconds and holy God they are amazing.

This reminds me of the banana “fro yo” machine another blend sent me last week. Not just a food pro – this thing was specifically for that popular healthy food blogger treat. After watching the infomercial online, my husband was ready to order one. Ridic!

15 Kim May 5, 2011 at 6:20 pm

Same toaster oven, high five!

Drooling. Seriously. I love love love infomercials. The Turbo Cooker was my favorite for a looooong time. [SET IT AND FORGET IT!!]

You guys totally suck because um….Preston is going to be pissed if you don’t find him one.

I mean, seriously!?!

18 Rachel May 5, 2011 at 8:05 pm

Oh I laughed out loud SO HARD at that.

19 Ashley Breton @fromashleywithlove.com May 5, 2011 at 10:59 pm

Omg I want this! I love s’mores so sosososo much. Also, I have the Magic Bullet and it scares the shit out of me. Also smells like burning plastic if used for too long ha

20 Mel May 6, 2011 at 12:48 am

Um ..YES! I find this could definitely be conducive to me becoming the best date ever. “Would you like to come in for some s’mores?” Done and doneee.

21 Rachel May 6, 2011 at 8:12 am

Leave it to one of my readers to find a way to get some tail out of this.

(But seriously — awesome idea.)

22 Ashley May 6, 2011 at 5:22 am

Oh my Goddddddddddddddddddd ……… I need one!

I’ve always wanted to play the skeptic in an informercial.

23 Sarah May 6, 2011 at 7:11 am

Okay. I just got a Magic Bullet (for free from a friend–apparently they sent him two when he ordered one off the infomercial) and I am incredibly intimidated! I made grapefruit juice the other day and I was so scared about when to plug it in–it didn’t actually say it in the directions, although it DID have a warning about running it too long and getting it clogged with too many food particles! Do you plug it in once you have all your ingredients in the blender base, or do you plug it in as you put the items in the blender base?

Do you have posts about what you do with your Magic Bullet??? I’m so curious!

24 Rachel May 6, 2011 at 8:11 am

Okay, the short answer is put everything in the plastic cup, screw on the lid/blade tightly, and put it on the already-plugged-in bullet. Give it a little turn to turn it on and let it go! It’s AMAZING.

My Magic Bullet usage appears in a lot of recipe posts! Always smoothies, and anything that includes a step for putting ingredients in the food processor.

25 Sarah May 7, 2011 at 6:44 am

Oh! That makes a lot more sense than the directions. Perhaps you should add “technical writer” to your list of skills. Off to search your archives for MB recipes…

26 Emily @ Comfortable Home Life May 6, 2011 at 9:50 am

AHAHA I freaking love infomercials. Why is it the “fail” part of the infomercial is always in black and white? EVERY TIME. I also love the chomping sound effect of hungry children biting into their classic campfire treat… WITHOUT THE CAMPFIRE.

I’m 91% certain you should start writing to all the “as seen on TV” products, coercing them to send you things to “review.” Ha! This item looks like a true winner. I just put 39 of them on my Christmas list this year.

27 Ashley@fromashleywithlove.com May 6, 2011 at 11:38 am

I forget I have a Magic Bullet most of the time then I realize most of the steps couldve been done with it! Haha its quite the gadget
