Free Things Thursday: Chucklefish

by Rachel on January 19, 2012

Welcome back to Free Things Thursday!

A couple months ago, a reader named Lea e-mailed me and had some very lovely things to say about my blog. She said that some of my posts had inspired her to work on something she really loves doing — which included starting her own Etsy shop — and as a thank you, she offered to send me an item from the shop and offered me one to give away to one of you. I love Etsy and was thrilled to spotlight a small business, especially a reader’s small business, so I was all about it.

She has a bunch of styles of scarves and hats to choose from; after you choose a style, you select a color of yarn. After some debate, I went with the Möbius Cowl in glacier and I’m really happy with my choice. I love it.

The color is even prettier in person and it’s just a really nice accessory that I’ve been wearing frequently. (God bless the holidays at home and some cold fronts in Texas.)

To enter to win a Chucklefish item of your choice (excluding the cable purse — sorry!) just visit the Chucklefish Etsy shop and then leave a comment on this post saying which item/color you’d choose if you won. You have until Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 11:59 PM CST and I’ll announce a winner next Thursday.

Over and out!

The cowl in apricot is just gorgeous! I can imagine wearing it everywhere.

4 Lauren January 19, 2012 at 11:33 am

I loooove the Mobius Cowl Neck scarf! I like the Glacier color too but one of the white or gray colors would go nicely with anything… very cute stuff!

Great choice on the Mobius Cowl–I totally agree! I’m having trouble deciding between the spice and pine colored yarns though…so many good options!

I love the The Möbius Cowl (the orange is so pretty — I love winter scarves in colors that pop!)

16 Stephanie January 19, 2012 at 11:48 am

I’d love to win the Möbius Cowl in cranberry but all the colors are so gorgeous!

17 Kelly January 19, 2012 at 11:48 am

Definitely jumping on the bandwagon (perhaps its the very cold weather in NYC this morning)–the Möbius Cowl is awesome! I’m loving the pine, linen, and wheat. However, it was pine that first caught my eye–pine it is!!!

18 Malorie January 19, 2012 at 11:48 am

I would choose the mobius cowl as well in gray marble.

19 Christie January 19, 2012 at 11:49 am

The Möbius Cowl, for sure. There are a lot of great color options but I think i’d go cranberry… or barley… or grass. Like I said, so many options!

20 Melissa January 19, 2012 at 11:50 am

I love the Möbius Cowl in Linen! Those wine bottle covers are way too adorable, too!

21 Carolyn Giles January 19, 2012 at 11:51 am

I’d choose the flowered ear warmer in wheat – so cute!

22 Tina January 19, 2012 at 11:52 am

26 Jessica F January 19, 2012 at 11:56 am

Such pretty stuff! I would definitely go for the bohemian scarf in cranberry. I’ve been wanting a scarf like that in a nice red shade for so long (but already have plenty of winter scarves…)!

27 Julianne January 19, 2012 at 11:59 am

The mobius looks super cozy but I prefer to wear scarves a little tighter around my neck- so the buttoned cowl looks perfect (esp in gray marble).

I like your Mobuis Cowl in raspberry, pine or sky blue! or apricot! :)

31 Mallory January 19, 2012 at 12:04 pm

The felted clutch is really cute – as is the Bohemian scarf (maybe in linen?!)

32 Eirinn January 19, 2012 at 12:05 pm

I would choose the basic ear warmer without the flower in wheat. I’ve actually had my eye on it for awhile, and put it on my birthday wish list (February) but would love to be able to check it off early!

33 Olivia January 19, 2012 at 12:07 pm

Definitely the mobius cowl in gray marble or linen!

34 Sarah January 19, 2012 at 12:11 pm

Omg her stuff is absolutely beautiful! I’m going to share her site, if that’s OK. I might even snag up that cable purse. I adore the Möbius Cowl in Burgundy. It was between that and the möbius with the button. Too many to choose from. Thanks, Rachel.

35 Sarah January 22, 2012 at 11:03 am

I just purchased the flowered ear warmer in wheat with a raspberry an burgund flower. That cowl would make a perfect addition;) Can’t wait to purchase more!

36 Sarah January 25, 2012 at 7:02 pm

Just recieved my ear warmer and it’s better than I imagined! Unlike other ear warmers, this fits snugly and doesn’t slip creating that “mushroom” on top of your head;) it’s extremely soft and very warm, as I just wore it to the store. I recieved many compliments on it which immediately assured me that Chucklefish know’s what they’re doing. Can’t wait to order more. Thanks, Lea.

Wow, Lea is so creative…It’s so inspiring to see what one can do with their talents.

I just sifted through the site and LOVE everything. If I won, I’d have to go with the flowered ear warmer in wheat with a burgandy/raspberry/or barley hinted flower. Actually, any flower would be nice…I’d leave it up to the expert ; )

mobius cowl in spice! SO PRETTY!! is it really super soft? because sometimes wool is itchy. it sure looks soft.

44 Lea January 19, 2012 at 3:49 pm

Hey, Carly! It IS really soft and cuddly–it’s a wool blend so it’s soft and machine-washable while still having the nice body that wool has.

Lea (I’m lurking around reading all the awesome comments)

The earwarmer in wheat is so cute. I’ve avoided the trend for awhile now, but the fact that I now wear my hair more up than down means I need something to help my poor ears survive the winter winds. This would do the trick!

47 Angie N January 19, 2012 at 12:43 pm

Wow, cool! Way to go Lea for opening an awesome shop. I’d love the Mobius cowl but I’m having the HARDEST time picking a color, because they are all fabulous. I think I’d do glacier because it would go with more things that I have, but the cranberry and spice are both SO pretty! Loving free things Thursday!
