As you may already know, I’m a peer panelist for U by Kotex. I am more proud of the work I do on this campaign than anything else I’ve ever worked on. I just really believe in the message behind it — taking the shame out of periods, making them less taboo and not so pale pink — and every time I do it I think it’s just something that younger me would be really, really excited about. (And yes, I think about what younger me would think of me now from time to time.)
On Monday night, I’m flying to New York to take part U by K’s upcoming Fashion Week activities and share everything that is happening via social media. I thought I’d share because you may want to participate.
Starting today, ten vehicles wrapped in our UbK designs will take to the streets of Manhattan. If you’re in NYC, look for them on the following routes: http://g.co/maps/en4uk. The cabs will be running through Feb 16.
So if you’re in the NYC area, hop in one of our cabs! You can follow us on Twitter @UGetsReal or check the hashtag #ubykfw or just follow the Facebook page for more updates on the events as they are happening — we have way more stuff planned than just this but that’s still under wraps. I have a lot of work to do to finish up my part in the social media planning and preparation before Monday, but it’s really hitting me right now how excited I am to be part of all of this! Like I said, I’m incredibly proud to be part of this campaign, and getting to take such a big role on during such a big event like this is just a really big career highlight for me. Plus I haven’t been to New York in a couple years and it will be great to go back, especially during Fashion Week (since I’m not a fashion assistant anymore, it will be a hell of a lot more fun).
