Today in Beckinfield: Missing White Girl

by Rachel on September 22, 2011

Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been making more Beckinfield videos!

In the current story, a teenage girl named Rose Banter has gone missing after starting shit with the creepy town authorities. I used this storyline as an opportunity to talk about a topic I actually care a lot about — Missing White Woman Syndrome. I did a big project on this my senior year for my Ethics in Journalism class and it’s something that really pisses me off…but things that piss me off are usually best expressed via comedy.

This week, the missing girl re-appeared in the library as an apparent ghost. There was already a ghost in the library, who my character had her heart set on seeing because she really wants to be on a TV show about it some day. This is actually probably my favorite video for the site so far.

Enjoy!

PS If you want to create a character and be a part of the story, please do! The site is totally free now, so come play!

But I’m not one to miss out on a trend! So…here are my tips!

Lesson #101: How to Lose Weight in the Fall

Good morning! We need to talk. Don’t worry, it’s not bad! OK, so, in an effort to manage my time effectively, I’ve had to cut one big thing from my life — video blogs. And that sucks. I used to do tons of videos! Now they are few and far between. I don’t like it. [...]

Fact: I’m totally addicted to my new job, and, really, to posting videos on Beckinfield. I love how quickly I can make new ones! When I do a blog video it takes me a while to write it, shoot it, edit it, and do the music. It’s quite a process. But for this, it takes [...]

Viva la Resolutionaries

January 2, 2011

Happy 2011! After making it back to Houston and enjoying a few glasses of champagne, a few shots of espresso tequila, and approximately two straight days of basic human needs, I’m feeling more excited for the new year in my new city. And nothing says “new year” like the New Year’s Resolutionaries! This one is [...]
